Welcome Aboard, Photography Students in the Yorkshire Region.

Over many years the Yorkshire BIPP committee have tried, with varying degrees of success, to embrace and encourage the students aiming to follow a career in photography.

Although The Owl Hotel at Hambleton is not the easiest of places to reach, interest in the BIPP from students in recent times, together with feed back from the colleges has encouraged the committee to introduce a special student page on our website. This will allow students to be able to voice their opinions and gain guidance from those who are leading the industry standards.

So what’s the object? While it’s not going to Blog or Twitter, it will provide a forum where you can ventilate your concerns, tell us about yourselves, show off your best picture, and we can let you know when anyone needs an assistant for an assignment.  We might even be able to generate a gallery of your photography along with critical analysis and constructive feedback.

Some of the college's who have expressed interest in closer links are Sheffield, Dewsbury, Hull, Grimsby and Skipton. There may be others and we would liketo hear from them. We are also mindful of those who are using photography as a part of their studies in different areas such as Fine Art, Design and Fashion.

We are very fortunate that Fashion and Commercial Category 2009 Award Winner Nathan Pidd (former Hull School of Art and Design student) has not only agreed to run the page, but also take over as web master. 

We are here to raise the awareness and be the voice of Student Photography in Yorkshire, linked to the BIPP a partnership which should benefit everyone concerned.
